New Arrival

Felina gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Monday 11th May at 2:30am. He has been named Eros. Both mum and baby are doing well.

Felina is a great mum. Eros is now starting to get used to his long legs and is cantering around the paddock already! He had a bit of trouble standing up the first couple of days as he could not work out where to put his long legs!

New Arrival

We are pleased to announce that Pandora finally gave birth on Monday 29 June at 1am, to a beautiful baby boy.

He is jet black and we have called him 'Ebony'. He is a really friendly little chap but Pandora is a little over protective so when you visit, please take care and do not enter the paddock!

Friday 1 May
Jumping and gymkhana games competition

On 1st May, we held a jumping and gymkhana games competition at the stables for our members. It was a great day, enjoyed by participants and spectators alike. There was something for everyone and nobody left without a rosette at the end of the day.

The jumping classes started with trotting poles, then went to cross poles, then a 50-60cm class, finishing with a 70-80cm class. The last 3 classes all had a jump off against the clock for all those who went clear.

The gymkhana games were really exciting, culminating in an adult and child race, where the children had to persuade a parent or another adult, to enter and ride as a pair with them. It was tremendous fun!
Special mention must go to Jenny Hurst for her effort, as well as the entertainment value!!!!

‘Carnaval’ is celebrated annually here in the Algarve and in order to support the tradition, the Country Riding Centre organised a day for the children whereby the children paired up and chose a horse. They then had 3 hours to dress themselves up in costumes and decorate their horse. Prizes were given to all entrants, with trophies presented to the best overall combination.
